In this case, pain is in the back or lower abdomen which can be mild as well as severe and may remain up to three days after the menstrual period begins and lessens as the woman’s age grows. It might also stop after a woman gives birth to her first child.

Cause of Primary Dysmenorrhea

Generally, Dysmenorrhea is caused because of spasm in the uterus. It contracts during a woman’s menstrual cycle forcefully to wipe away the part of the monthly menstrual period. And, when the spasm occurs too heavily and compresses attached blood vessels, it cuts off the oxygen supply to the muscles of the uterus and the pain initiates. Girls with primary dysmenorrhea hold higher production of Endometrial Prostaglandin which leads to higher and stronger uterine contractions. Anti-Inflammatory Drugs are beneficial for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. Plus, a visit to a doctor is necessary before taking the medicines since a number of women do not respond to these problems.
