diabetes symptoms

Getting ideas about the symptoms of diabetes is much beneficial since it is easier to take precaution. There are actually 3 types of Diabetes-
Type 1 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes
Gestational diabetes

Though there are types, all these types of diabetes have some common symptoms. Some of the symptoms that people with diabetes get can sometimes be so mild that it may be unseen.

Here are some of the common symptoms of diabetes:

Urinating often

When you suffer from diabetes, there is an excess amount of sugar in your blood. Then, the role of kidneys too increases to filter and soak up more amount of sugar. This excessive sugar is thrown out via your urine which results in frequent urination. This leave your body dehydrated.

Feeling very thirsty

excess thirst due to diabetes

Thirst is generally just the warning of the brain to let you know that you are dried out because of insufficient amount of drinking fluid. Yet, feeling thirsty most of the time without any reason is not considered normal and it should be diagnosed. Since unnecessary and constant thirst which is identified as Polydipsia may be the symptom of diabetes, you need to consult your doctor very soon.

Eye problems

Because of diabetes you may also get blurry vision. The reason is due to the excess amount of blood sugar, fluids are drawn from your tissues, along with the tissues present in lenses of your eyes which damages your focus. If precautions for this problem are not taken on time it may also form new blood vessels in your retina and harm recognized vessels and can lead to blindness as well as vision loss.

Wounds take longer time to heal

When you get injured or wounded, your body starts repairing the injured skin in 3 different steps. Firstly, an immune reaction causes the area around the injury to be inflamed to put off infections. Then, new cells appear on the wound, and to end with, scar tissue plays its role to fully heal the wound.
However, when you have a bad state of health some wounds and injuries take longer time to heal. Especially, when are suffering from disease such as diabetes, wounds take several weeks to heal.

Feeling very hungry

You will feel hungry even though you are eating. Since the muscles do not get sufficient energy from the food, the body’s insulin resistance does not allow glucose to enter the muscle and provide energy. Therefore, in an endeavor to get more energy, the body feels hungry all the time.

Extreme fatigue

fatigue caused by diabetes

Fatigue caused because of less energy in your body does not go away until you take proper rest. Because of the dehydration caused by frequent urination, less ability of the body to use up glucose for required energy, and the powerlessness of your body to function appropriately, a diabetic always feels tired. Tiredness, in fact, is a significant symptom that can be noticed as you suffer from Diabetes.

Weight loss

Losing weight is one of the main signs of diabetes. You will begin losing weight slowly but surely, more than 10% of your normal body weight without doing any fitness exercise or changing your food habits. Even though you eat more, you lose weight unusually. This happens especially if you have Type 1 Diabetes.

Knowing about these symptoms in the early hours and starting the treatment as soon as possible can reduce the risk of increasing the hurdles caused by diabetes.
